Our events bring learning to life with hands-on experiences, community connections, and celebrations that build skills, confidence, and belonging. Below is an overview of some of our programs and events.

Join us — every PCA event is designed to enrich learning, strengthen community ties, and create lasting memories for students and families.


Art in Motion

  • Outdoor, teacher-led art classes held in parks across San Diego.
  • Materials provided; projects cover different genres and real-world art applications.
  • Ongoing sessions that encourage creativity, collaboration, and expressive skills.


STEAM & Dream Park Days

  • Hands-on science, technology, engineering, arts, and math activities hosted at local parks.
  • Interactive stations, experiments, and maker projects that connect theory to real-world play.

Dream Big Expo

  • High school-focused event connecting students with school-approved community partners, colleges, and career resources.
  • Resume workshops, Q&A sessions, and presentations on PCA high school courses and credit options.

School Spirit Weeks

  • Themed dress days and activities that foster community, pride, and student engagement offered in our Weekly Family Newsletter. 

Snow Much Fun
  • Annual Ice Skating & Winter Crafts

Spelling Bee

  • Annual school-wide competition focused on vocabulary, public speaking, and critical thinking.
  • Tiered rounds with teacher coaching and recognition for growth and effort.


PCA Travels

  • Multi-day educational trips such as 5th-grade state capitol visits, Pali Institute, 6th-grade camp, Catalina Island, and Sacramento tours.
  • Trip curricula include pre- and post-trip lessons, reflective journaling, and standards-linked learning goals.

Geography Bee

  • Competition that strengthens map skills, geographic reasoning, and world knowledge through progressive rounds and practice sessions.

Service Projects & Volunteer Opportunities

  • Partnerships with organizations such as Feeding San Diego and I Love A Clean San Diego, plus visits to retirement homes and other local service options.
  • Service-learning focuses on civic responsibility, empathy, and measurable community impact.

Winterfair & Student Market

  • Seasonal fair where students showcase and sell projects, crafts, and small businesses.
  • Great for practicing entrepreneurship, budgeting, and presentation skills.


Gather & Grow

  • An adult‑focused expo offering expert speakers, workshops, and resources for homeschooling families.
  • Past speakers include leaders in the homeschooling community (e.g., Julie Bogart) and sessions on curriculum selection, family routine, social‑emotional support, and college/career planning.

Science Fair

  • Student research projects presented to peers, teachers, and community judges.
  • Emphasizes scientific method, data collection, and presentation skills.

Winter Formal, Prom, Grad Nite, and High School Awards

  • Celebration events for secondary students including formal dances, senior night activities, graduation celebrations, and academic/extracurricular award ceremonies.

Field Days

  • Active, inclusive outdoor days with cooperative games, team challenges, and fitness activities.
  • Designed to promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and physical wellness.

Multicultural Faire

  • Celebration of cultures represented in our community through food, performances, and student-led exhibits.
  • Encourages cultural awareness, respect, and global citizenship.

BizTown

  • Simulated economy program where students run mini-businesses, learn civic roles, and practice real-world financial literacy.

Library Events

  • Our Library hosts many gatherings such as game nights, movie nights, and reading clubs to build literacy and community.

School Events are available on our Field Trips & Events Hub for registered families to sign up and attend.
